But seriously, the joke was hideous so I probably did deserve it. Anyhoo, cheerie pip and all that. Eden Baylee left a twenty-year banking career to become a full-time writer. They would have to pick the lives of these cops apart, like crows on fleshy bones.
Every time they cleared one, it would put more weight on the rest.

As the investigation goes on, the tensions—and the murders—get worse. The tensions at home are tough to deal with, and cops continue to die.
In no way does this mean Nora thinks a mother can't be an excellent police officer or attorney or any other type of professional. It does mean that many of the things readers love about Eve and Roarke's life together would change i.
